Car repaired, Christmas cards done, and preparations for Christmas in Cornwall….

We decided to take our car to have the radiator repaired at our local mechanic in Nevez since our emails to our English speaking car dealer in Quimper were not returned….After 700 euros later, we now have a new water pump and new radiator!  Luckily, we were able to use Jilly's car which she can't drive to get around for the 2 days that it took to finish the repairs.  When we approached the mechanic, Tom said in French "we'd like an appointment for our car", the owner picked up the air hose and was going to put air in our tires…..we quickly explained that  our radiator needed fixing and he said with our English accent and his Breton accent, he did not hear correctly…..pneus is the word for tire and rendezous for appointment  in French….a good laugh for all!

We are busy getting ready for our trip to Cornwall.  We need to really be alert while driving for the first time in England so we don't kill ourselves or others!  We'll meet Pilla at Gatwick airport and take the train to Salisbury.  Then off to Stonehenge on our way to Bath for the day and night.  Then to a house we rented near Falmouth.  We have had so many friends here help with ideas for our week.  We are very excited, but will miss Calla, who will spend the holiday with Megan's family in Pennsylvania.  Calla is hoping to visit in April and our choices are Nepal to visit LaChelle; Switzerland to visit Rosmarie and Blanca; and Italy to see the Riviera which we have never seen.

Meanwhile, more new beaches to check out even in chilly weather!  Also collecting holly (extraordinary red berries) and greens to decorate with Carol.
