Autumn….Celebrating 4 years in France, Journées de patrimoine, calm at the port, and getting ready for a huge vacation with Calla!…and Jane and Blanca!
Autumn has finally arrived and we are experiencing nice, cool, dry, sunny days but with enough rain to have the grass green up and grow again after a long, hot, dry summer. French Class will begin in November and Conversation Group has been busy with many fun outings including 2 Breton Resistance museums and an excellent British film (in French) The Lady in the Van. We also visited several sites during the Journées de patrimonies including a water mill near La Foret, a museum of the former steel mill, the faïence museum in Locmaria, and the Hennebont fortress. Here is the website for the patrimony days http://journeesdupatrimoine.culturecommunication.gouv.fr
We have done lots of driving these past 4 years so we are awarding our little car 4 new tires for our upcoming trip! We are so excited that we will see Calla in 8 days, will get to visit my former German tutor and her family in Liestal, my friend Blanca in Zurich and also be joined by Annapolis friend Jane.

Four Years!!! How time flies, Tom and Shirley. Your upcoming vacation with Calla et al sounds like a big adventure. Have fun and drive carefully. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving in the US - first real Thanksgiving with family since 2007, I guess.
