Winter rain, quiet port, and deserted beaches!
It's been a very cold winter (unusual for Brittany) and now we have a lot of rain (normal for Brittany)! The port has been quiet with some interesting visitors; the Belle Angele which is usually docked in Pont Aven was in Kerdruc for over 2 weeks and we have had visits from the Sauveteurs de Mer. We were pleased that there was a march for women's rights in Douarnenez which is about a 45 minute drive from our house! We are ALWAYS asked about Trump when we meet new people and the French say that they are worried about their upcoming presidential election in April. Needless to say, we are in shock about the new president and cabinet in the USA!
We went to Quimper to ask for a rendezvous with the Prefecture to renew our visa (carte de sejour) which expires in April. They gave us an appointment in JUNE! Must be lots of new people needing proof of residency!
We have also met some wonderful new neighbors and had plenty of wonderful dinners. We are looking forward to some warmer and sunnier days at the beach!!!!!
