Coping with the Corona Virus in Brittany

 After months of throngs of tourists in Finistere, it has quieted down a bit with schools possibly opening early September.  The weather in August has been unsettled with some very nice, cool, sunny days and some rainy days.  Not easy to plan outdoor aperos, French class, and conversation group. 

The Corona Virus is still here in large numbers as a result of the presence of tourists from every corner of France as well as Dutch, German, and British tourists.  Mask are finally mandatory (and mostly worn correctly) in supermarkets, shops and other indoor venues.  Outdoors at markets and the Ville Close in Concarneau, the masks are mandatory.  The number of cars near the beaches is incredible and the hordes of people on the beaches is too close for comfort for us, so we have only been to the beach once this summer just to walk in the ocean (no masks on the people on the beaches).  We have taken advantage of our garden to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air!

Tom has been improving and will see the cardiologist in mid September. Shirley continues to see the kine therapist and her ankle is progressing.  Calla continues to work from home and has been able to escape a few times for breaks.  Below she enjoys BBQ.  Betty Jane and Loïc from Dinan for lunch.  Also the best news of the year is the BISTRO is CLOSED for the season....a month early....life is soooooo much better now!!!!!!!
