A true vacation in Portugal!!!!!

Finally a real vacation in Portugal. Calla met us in Lisbon where we spent 3 nights discovering the city, mostly via a tuk-tuk. Marie was our driver and she was awesome! She even took us the following day to Belem where we had patel de nata pastries where they were first made. We then moved to Sintra which was more of a challenge with stairs, steep hills and lots of driving when we got lost.....Then on to Coimbra north where we stayed in a palace - a splurge with an amazing dinner and breakfast! Then on to our timeshare condo north of Porto - in Esposende on the ocean. We escaped to a beautiful apartment in Porto for 2 nights and loved this city too! Then back to Lisbon and then home. We have a new appreciation for port and a newly found Ginja (black cherry liquour). The people of Portugal were so nice and helpful. The food was interesting and we found that picking up an order was made for a large family!!!! Outstanding trip and we are planning another trip in March! France has been dreary and rainy since our return and it looks like it won't end any time soon!!!!!
