Vacation in Catalonia, Spain with Calla!

What an exciting trip we had to Spain! Calla met us in Barcelona for 2 1/2 weeks and it was an awesome trip! Not as pretty or welcoming as Portugal, but we saw and did so many amazing things! Amazing weather....dry and warm, but not hot. Just perfect....We spent the first week at a time share condo in Salou which is just soutwest of Tarragona. Visited the Roman ruins in Tarragona. Celebrated my 77th birthday. We visited Reus many times to see the Gaudi Expeience museum and the Casa Novas with modernista architecture. Saw many castles and Unesco World Heritage sites as well as Cava, Vermouth and chocolate production houses. Then back to Barcelona and spent a wonderful night at a 5+ star hotel - Monument Hotel where they gave me a bottle cava and strawberries dipped in chocolate and Calla had ordered a small bouquet of flowers which the hotel transformed them into a HUGE bouquet! How nice to be wealthy!!!! In Barcelona, we saw the interior of the Sagrata Familia, the Cathedral, Casa Mila, and the market on La Rambla. Then on to Caldes de Montbui which has the hottest hot springs water 74+C. Wonderful pools and then reflexology. Relaxing! Then to a mountain hotel and to the old Roman town of Vic which had a huge market in the old town selling intricately woven palms for Palm Sunday! Sad to say goodbye to Calla, but what a wonderful vacation she planned for us!!!!!
