Busy July and Happy Bastille Day!

The port has been extremely busy for several weeks and the weather has been mostly good.  We have been busy with our landlord and his wife and 2 children here for 10 days in the apartment adjoining our house......they have been lots of fun and they treated us to dinner at the bistrot down below us....our first time there!  It was very good food and the bistrot was packed!  The half lobster was awesome and what made it so good was the sauce that came with it.  Lots of potatoes fried in duck fat and the evening was topped off with a rain shower.  Tomorrow we leave for Brest where we will pick up Annapolis friend Kathy and her British friend Fleur.  This is Kathy's first trip to Europe and we hope she has enjoyed being in London for a week and we hope they will both love Brittany as much as we do.  

Also went to the first Pardon of the year....in Riec-sur-Belon.  Not as beautiful as last year's Pardon in St. Philibert, but the setting of the chapel on the Belon River was quite lovely.  Next Sunday is the Pardon at Henan which is our neighboring chapel in the beautiful woods on the Aven River.    Also, our new uphill neighbor Claude will be back with his friend Maurice tonight from Geneva!  

We are worried for two good friends, one from Riec-sur-Belon and one from Denver who are both fighting cancer.  Prayers for Rod and Jonathan.
