L'Hermione returns to France! Visitors to apartment next to our house...

We were able to see the Hermione after she returned to France at Brest on Thursday.  A beautiful ship at the port but all tickets to board her were sold out long ago!  Hundreds of people on a very warm afternoon.  We also made a quick trip to IKEA after our tram trip down to the port.  Here are some photos:

 

Visitors to the Apartment:

We have also had lots of fun with two sets of visitors to the apartment above our car port.  The apartment is rented out occasionally, but the first group this summer turned out to be a lot of fun.  A couple and their 8 year old daughter from Vienna, Austria stayed in the apartment.  We invited them and and a couple and their 8 year old son, friends of theirs who were camping nearby, also from Vienna. to dinner.  The husband of the other couple was out surfing at La Torche until after dark so joined us late!  The kids were very excited to be on vacation and loved this area!  They scampered on the huge rocks at the port and explored the old wreckage of a boat at low tide.   They were thrilled to catch some small fish and a starfish at the port!  

The same day that they left we had new French renters arrive who also have a 6 year old son.  It has been interesting and switching from German to English to French has been a bit confusing!  We feel like we're on vacation too!
