Amazing get-together in Kerdruc, planning Stockholm vacation in April and looking forward to seeing Calla in a few weeks!

la Fëte des Voisins de Kerdruc …..Potluck with Kerdruc Neighbors!

After living in Kerdruc for almost 5 years, we have met many wonderful neighbors.  What was very surprising was the recent potluck that was organized by some of our neighbors who are concerned about the plans of some businesses to develop land near us.  A petition was started about a year ago to voice concerns to the Nevez government over a request to develop a "Zone Artisanale", which included a business that stores and repairs boats.  Also talked about was a parking lot.   If this "zone" is approved, it will open up a greater chance that other businesses will open….not something this quiet neighborhood needs!  We already deal with the onslaught of tourists in summer and put up with the noise of the Bistrot near our house!  The association is called the "Sauvegarde du Cadre de Vie de Kerdruc".  We are very happy to support the group!  It was a fabulous event and we met so many new neighbors…..both full time residents and second home owners (mostly Parisians).  Amazing that we knew about 16 of these people before...

Also, we have made our flight plans to Stockholm….and Calla noticed that we can fly out of Brest and not have to land at Orly Airport and take a 2 hour bus ride through Paris to get to Charles DeGalle Airport!  We think this must be a new flight as we have never heard of it before!  Thank you Calla!!!!!  So we're off on April 21st and will return May 6th.  Anyone want to house sit while we are gone?  Now we just have to do research on what to do and see.  

Calla will be here in 3 weeks with her 2 French friends.  We will meet her in Nantes and then return her to the airport after 10 days!  What a short trip for these girls!!!!!
