Wonderful Sunday in church!

Sunday was a special day starting with a Mass at our own Névez Catholic Church.....second Sunday in a row!  We had never been inside this church in our closest town and we joined Sally and Mike as they go every Sunday and this was Névez' turn to have the service....not enough priests to go around these days.  The church was cold as we have had unusually cold weather this year....but it was very light and pretty inside...larger than the church in St. Philibert.  Bruce and John joined me and Tom stayed home to get some work done.  Nice service and lots of people.  We know there are Protestant churches, but the Catholic seems most like the Episcopal Church we are used to.....we will keep going until they object......summers bring a Church of England priest to Névez actually, so that will be exciting to attend!

We then went home for lunch and started making chicken and sausage gumbo.  At 5 pm, we returned to the church for a choir concert.  What a thrill when they sang songs in English.....even though they could have used a few lessons in pronounceation.  Especially exciting was excerpts of Irving Berlin....including "God Bless America" which was fun to sing along....did they know there were 4 Americans in the audience?  Bruce brought lots of U.S. Dollars and he put some in the collection plate....so maybe they know now!  Overall a very special day and dinner with Sally and Mike.....Gumbo made by Bruce and Tom.  Really good!

Today, the two set out in our car for a day in Quimper and Tom and I were supposed to wait for the carpet people to measure, but alas, our landlord's friends did not call, so it will happen later......
