Rain, floods, and wind!
The weather has been rotten for weeks! Not only did we have rainy, windy weather in Belgium over Christmas week, but now have the same in Kerdruc and Brittany!
Quimperle is the worst with flooding of the lower town, which we drove through just a week ago...when dry! The wind has been strong and along with the highest tides of the month, it has made for huge waves and surf in the Atlantic. The rain continues and it looks like there is no end in sight! At least the temperatures have been milder than normal! We even watched some windsurfers braving the huge surf!
We know that the US has also had extreme weather and the United Kingdom has had the worst of the flooding...with loss of life! Our house is dry with the exception of some water in the sail room. This is something we have been trying to solve for months as last year we had mushrooms growing along the baseboard on the West side of the room.
