Wonderful, busy week!
We've had a busy week so far.
Tuesday was supposed to be French Class but our teacher was ill. We had a nice visit from Jim instead. Wednesday was finally a visit to the Thalassotherapy in Benodet, which was awesome! Warm, salt water with bubbles and an aqua gym. Thursday was the busiest day....Aqua gym in the morning (met a lady who's daughter works at the French Embassy in DC! and she is visiting in September...small world) and French conversation group in the afternoon! Our conversation group was held in the country north of us about 20 minutes...at Antoine and Sylvie's house. Antoine is a woodworker and Tom was finally in his element and the photos below are of his shop, which is just next to their grand French farm house! In the 20 years that they have lived there, they have done little to update the house, but the feeling of being in a real French country house was very real! The house was built after the turn of the century. The Norwegian wood stove added to the warmth of our very wet, cold winter. They have one goat left and she is in the front plot of land and is a welcoming sight. They had at one time many goats and made cheese from their milk! Syvlie is a visiting nurse and she works 2 days a week but sees 37 patients a day and drives 200 kilometers in a day! Such young, lovely French people!
Friday will be a day of rest....rain is in the forecast, so we will probably stay close to home...I guess we can't complain about the weather here as Calla is freezing and snowing in Washington...........here are some photos of our week:
