Discovering more beaches and luck at the dentist!
After Tom's brave visit to the new dentist to have work done on his tooth to prepare it for an inlay, we decided to get out and investigate more beaches....our favorite pastime these dry, cold days of winter. John told us that the Bretons drink a bottle of whiskey before going to the dentist because they don't use anesthesia in Brittany..........
We headed East across the Aven and Belon Rivers and found two beautiful beaches on the Atlantic....Kerfany les Pins and Ile Percée at Plage de Trenez......photos below. The Plage de Kerfany is just across from our closest beach of Port Manech, but a good 30 minute drive from us....have to cross the Aven River at Pont Aven. Can't wait to get into that pristine water when the weather warms up....maybe by June!
Also getting excited about our next visitors, Wayne and Peggy from Denver, coming on March 7th. We'll head to Mont St. Michel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mont_Saint-Michel, Dinan, Roscoff on the north coast of Brittany, and Huelgoat in the Black Mountains. The following week we'll head to Provence.......a place we have never been. Exciting! And the weather has held up now for the past 2 1/2 weeks...no rain....some cloudy days lately, but everything is drying out! (until our upcoming trip probably)....
All these travel preparations are helping us not worry too much about getting the French Government's permission to stay another 6 months.....keep those prayers and thoughts coming please.....
