Awesome FRENCH CLASS!
How exciting to finally find a French class and in the middle of town in Nevez! We could not have found a better teacher and 6 other English speaking neighbors from our commune ... most of whom have lived in the area for 6 or 7 years! That gives us hope that we will be able to better communicate and understand this new adventure of ours! We spent 2 hours in class along with Lynne.
The instructor, Michel, is a gentleman about our age and has a very quick, wonderful sense of humor! He makes us laugh through the entire class and we aren't even shy about speaking up and making mistakes! He calls on us to speak and Tom did a great job with reciting our address and phone number in French! I was so lucky to be able to say même
(same) because Tom knows numbers better than I do...they are so hard! Remember, no English in class!
We were able to quickly exchange some information with a few people before returning home, but they are all wonderfully welcoming and have offered to help us with our adjustment to French life! Our angels are watching out for us! Wish we could join them in classes for line dancing and Breton dancing...they sound like so much fun....maybe we can watch....my ankle is getting worse and in need of surgery soon!
So every Tuesday at 2 p.m. (14H00) is French class offered through A.M.A.N. (L' Aman Association des Métiers d'Arts Névéziens) which costs 45 euros a year for the two of us! The secretary is apparently a neighbor in Kerdruc and so is Jim, another class member who lives just up the street - surprise!
So, there may be hope for us, and we are so energized by finally connecting with this wonderful group of people!!!!!
