Pointe de la Torche beaches and Tulip fields! Oh and dentist next week!
Another sunny day and we decided to go see the tulips in bloom because a lady in our French Class said the TULIPS were in bloom! I had to see this because it is soooo early in the season for it....turns out she was WRONG.....my luck....just daffodils, crocuses and lots of the beginning of hyacinths. So, we'll have to return in another few weeks or so and see the tulips blooming! (Our garden crocuses are delightful.)
However, we did get to see one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! Pointe de la Torche....location on google maps below:
Pointe de la Torche
Those black dots in the water are about 30 surfers! Surfing school in February
Beautiful calvary in small village near ocean
Market day in Concarneau..it is actually the size of a football field
Tulip fields....actually hyacinths growing near the ocean....in the sandy soil
After buying pork at the open air market in Concarneau, we drove to pretty Pont-l'Abbé (Pont-l'Abbé on WikiPedia) and had lunch in the car. It was about 3 degrees C and windy. While eating Tom broke his front tooth! He's only had a few fillings in his life and mostly pleasant dental visits and this is a real surprise! So he was proud of himself for calling the dentist in Nevez and making an appointment on Monday without speaking a word of English! (Well, we think it might be Monday?) More later on this new development!
Today, Saturday, we woke up with clouds! Oh my....and some snow flakes off and on.....but it is warming up and the sun should come out this afternoon....we hope!!!!
