Summer in Paradise

OH HAPPY DAY!  FINALLY A CAR!

We have finally picked up our new (2007) Peugeot 207 which is awesome!  Automatic transmission and what a pretty car!  Another day of surprising grace shown by the French!  The person who sold us the car, Anthony, was there to meet us at 9 a.m. in Quimper.  He took us to a gentleman who would tell us all about the car and hand over the keys.  The new person is Michel who speaks wonderful English as he spent a year in Australia 4 years ago.  He was able to go through all the bells and whistles, starting with the most common.  This is our third Peugeot in 6 weeks and we are pretty good at knowing what everything is, but we did learn a few great things that we have been wondering about.  The most exciting is the windscreen wipers that come on automatically and if you set the "auto" button on the lights, the lights come on when it is dark (as in a tunnel or car park too).  I love driving the car and Tom can take his naps!  Now Tom  can see more of France with me driving too and hopefully less whiplash with the automatic transmission!!!!!  

After getting the car we went to the BUT store (don't try to goggle it...you'll get an xxx site).  We went to the will call area where I remembered a sign saying something about a few random chairs were 10 euros?????...they were still there and yahoo!!!!! we bought two of them and they WERE 10 euros each.......they don't match, but my back will appreciate the new comfort!!!!!  No chair is under 50 euros.......even the cheap ones!  Then we went into the store and found someone to ask about a part from the desk that we bought which was missing a piece....he took a photo of the desk and sent it to the same girl we had bought the chairs from....she got a new boxed table, took out the part, and gave it to us!  No problem!

Then we went back to the huge E. Leclerc Hypermache and ate at the cafeteria...fun and vegetables were free with your lunch..lots of potatoes, including french fries and tater tot like fried balls (yum) and lots of green beans, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and carrots.  Good food and good prices!  It's been a great day and we are so grateful to all the French (excuse me, Breton) people who have helped us along the way....so patient and friendly!  

Then we tried to find the Gare where we rented the Avis car....got lost and then finally found it....and returned it...yea!  No more rental bills!
