French television.....
Thought you might like to know what television is like in France. We do not have the British satellite with all their channels, but we do have English speaking news. Here Is a sample:
News:
CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg, NHK World, Al Jazeera, France24, BBC World, and Sky, all in English.
Some of my favorite design shows:
La Maison France 5, D&CO, and some American/Canadian HGTV shows dubbed.
Some dubbed OLD reruns:
Greys Anatomy, Urgencies (ER), Dr. House, Mentalist, Columbo, Friends, X-files, Dr. Who, and lots more. (Our doctor is a fan of Dr. House).
They LOVE their game shows:
Money Drop, Mot de passe, and many more......
There are good news shows about France called Le Grand Journal, and on upper channels, there are local journals from each area of France highlighting events and news. Also a parody of the news called Le Petit Journal is fun.
In addition, cartoons of all kinds for kids, teleshopping, sports, and the hoards of soap operas....French ones! Movies are almost all on-demand so we haven't checked that out yet. My brother found a station that has very, very old movies, mostly in English.
When the shows are dubbed in French, you can still hear the English also, which makes for a weird experience. Not easy to understand. When there are subtitles, it is a good learning experience to see the translation.
Also some beautiful shows on the Arte channel. When there are subtitles, it is a good learning experience to see the translation.

In other news, we found some beach toys....below....that we might share with a 6 year old coming in July.....
